There appears to be a wider, broader interest in things intuitive. Various folks are writing and teaching about using intuition in every day life. A new focus is the typing of intuition, that is, analyzing various aspects and categorizing them.
One effort looks at the way intuition is used in, or affecting, decision making. Another is about the way people use physical and non physical means to access otherwise unknown information. Then there is the idea of visualizing what is desired and practicing same. Perhaps the most beneficial is the growth of awareness about the "intuitive heart" and heart-brain cooperation.
A little background -
This writer came in with certain psychic, telepathic and intuitive abilities into a family unit which accepted such things rather than deny these as dictated by the dominant culture.
She was further blessed with exposure to the work of Carol Ann Liaros and Dr. Henry Reed, PhD.
Ms. Liaros has certain abilities which were academically studied for 8 years. The questions she was asked by researchers greatly assisted her in comprehending and appreciating her own abilities. Her work in showing the blind they could see [Project Blind Awareness] gave her increased awareness.
Dr. Reed was a researcher in such matters. One of his areas of focus was on dreams and dreaming, which led to instituting the Dream Circle, and evolved into the "Intuitive Heart".
Together, Carol Ann Liaros and Henry Reed began sharing their findings in annual conferences at the A.R.E. in Virginia Beach in 1990 with a conference called "Be Your Own Psychic, the Edgar Cayce Legacy" [BYOP], mainly about psychic techniques. The following year, the "Intuitive Imagination" was introduced with more emphasis on intuition. In 1994 the "Intensive" was offered shifting towards even more intuitive material with graduates receiving the title "Wayshower". Thousands eventually took the BYOP course, some many times. Fewer took the Intuitive Imagination and several hundred became Wayshowers.
These conferences cover psychic areas such as psychometry, walking in another's shoes [body], tuning into another via voice, sensing auras and frequencies, mind travel (remote viewing), healing, handling feelings not our own, etc., as well as relaxation, breathing, and uses of techniques. Intuitive subjects such as meeting a guide, inspired writing, intuitive goal setting, etc., are also presented.
Currently -
Some modern analysis has yet to catch up with the level of comprehension and practicality enjoyed by Carol Ann Liaros and Henry Reed.
The discussion of three types of intuitive decision making, for example, indicates the distinction of "knowing" and "deciding" is not yet totally grasped. There may be many styles of deciding but something is either known intuitively or it is not. What one does with it depends on one's purpose and intent.
There are four ways of knowing. Only one is intuitive.
- physically - input received through the five senses
- psychically, i.e., impressions given and/or received via the five (5) senses
but which are not themselves material.
These are identified as the "clairs", 8 of which this writer is aware, as follows:
Clairvoyance - see [third eye, pineal], Clairaudience - hear, Clairsalience - smell,
Clairgustance - taste, Clairsentience - feel, Clairtangency - touch,
Clairempathy - emotional feeling, and
the last which is not based on physical, Claircognizance - to just know, intuit [intuition].
- telepathically, i.e., conciousness to consciousness, mind to mind communication, a universal language
via thoughts, geometric shapes and symbols.
- intuitionally, i.e., to know without explanation, reason or external source. It is.
This includes pre-incarnational memories and what may have never before been experienced but is needed now.
This may not be easy to conceptually grasp. It may be contrary to what we are taught.
We have been told we must study and learn. We don't. We remember and know spiritually.
We learn physically. Emotionally is mixed.
Classifying knowledge recognized intuitively by method received is counter intuitive. There is only one.
Intuition is not based on the physical. The data is received by physical receptors only after it is recognized in spirit. This is why data received psychically can be distinquished from that known intuitively.
There are three currently recognized locations with brain type cells in a physical body: the cranial brain, the heart and the gut. We commonly identify one of these as the receiver of an intuitive knowing. They receive other input as well. Cooperation between these three centers greatly improves functioning of the human being.
What seems to be in short supply is clear thinking, i.e., common sense. But is this an illusion?
Much of the "new" interest is based on consideration, quite naturally, from a physical viewpoint. We are, after all, spirits inhabiting physical bodies. We experience anything spiritual therefore in the physical. Intuition, however, is communication from spirit. We may wish to switch viewpoints on occasion to more accurately and/or completely see what we are experiencing.
Expanding our field of vision to include spirit may make us more comfortable in being spirits living in the physical.
There are Wayshowers trained to instruct in the Liaros-Reed methods. Anyone wishing to know more please contact us.
