There is one consciousness that includes all that is.

We humans are aspects of this consciousness.
We call this consciousness by various names. One is Source. Another is Creator. Great Spirit is in hundreds of languages.
Our ability to comprehend, to know this consciousness is limited only by our ability, our capacity to know.
Human beings are spirits manifesting in matter. Spirit has the ability, the power, to know and to choose. All spirits are aspects of Source, aspects of the Creator with the same faculties, to know and to choose. All spirits share the same universal consciousness.

When an individual spirit manifests in matter, i.e., incarnates as a human, e.g., it is as if one starts fresh. There is no conscious memory, no data base of knowledge. It is a new adventure, limited by the programming of the new being,
The new being begins discovering and exploring its surroundings, its environment, building its own data base, using its own expanding awareness, its consciousness.
The new being becomes aware of others like itself. It becomes aware of itself as separate from others. It becomes aware of limits and the unlimited. It becomes aware.
In some worlds humans are carefully guided in love and caring by ones who remember who they are, where they come from and why they are physical.
In other worlds, there may be varying degrees of awareness, knowledge, comprehension with gaps in the universal data base. One such gap with earthizens is that there are other worlds. Another is limited comprehension of available communication methods.

All spirits are telepathic. Not all spirits in matter, i.e., physical beings have developed their telepathic faculty. All spirit beings in matter use the mind to communicate with the various parts of self and in various ways.
Initially, when a spirit awakes in a body, it sends out thoughts. If it receives no response, it begins sending out physical signals. The intensity of these signals increase until a response is detected. If a certain method receives no response, it may be assuned to be not useful and may be soon forgotten.

This is how we have gotten to where we are today.
We have a few tried and true means of communication with the rest mostly forgotten.
